MIXED MEDIA ON WOOD
I paint on wood panels with acrylic paint and a variety of mixed media: charcoal, graphite, pastels and miscellaneous papers that engage me and add interest and texture. Working on wood adds richness in that layers can be built up as well as removed by sanding and scraping into the surface.
Cradled wood panels are finished on the sides — either painted in a neutral color or varnished natural wood; flat wood panels are sold framed in a black, white or blonde floater frame.
